We had the pleasure of staying there a few years back when we visited a friend in Melbourne. They have one, two and three bedroom apartments, with a separate living areas and 1-3 bathrooms. The three bedroom apartments are ideal for a larger family, with a max capacity of 7 people. They also provide baby cots if you need them, which we did at the time.

The apartments feature a fully equipped kitchen, which was a huge asset to us, especially for breakfasts and some evenings when the kids didn’t want to go out for dinner. And with a gym and spa in the Hotel Apartment complex, there is something for the adults to do on site if a night in, after a busy day sightseeing is the order of the day..

However, if you do want to eat out, Punthill South Yarra Grand offers the best of both worlds, as it’s a short walk from Toorak Road and Chapel Road which have a wealth of shops, restaurants and bars to keep both kids, and adults happy!

One bedroom apartments are around £98 a night.

We loved visiting Melbourne as a family. Some of our highlights included Federation square, Melbourne Aquarium (https://www.melbourneaquarium.com.au/#gref) and sampling the incredible coffee shops in the CBD.

We used Melbourne as a base to then explore the Great Ocean Road and The Twelve Apostles (see my other blog post A self catering apartment on the Great Ocean Road, near Melbourne on the doorstep of some of the wonders of the world for more details on this trip and where we stayed).

Other highlights in the local area include Melbourne Zoo and excursions to Yarra Valley which I’ve heard is amazing for wine tours. Definately a reason for us to go back to Melbourne for sure! Although we might need to think about babysitting when we do 🙂
