“The Baobab in Gran Canaria is a great family hotel, so good we have stayed here 3 times. The grounds are extensive and there is an African and animal theme throughout. For young children there is a real sense of adventure. On the ground floor there is a turtle sanctuary which is a joy to walk along.

There is lots for the children to do, including kids clubs and a central plaza area where the entertainment team host events. Each time we have been there, the entertainment team make a great effort with themed days e.g. Alice in Wonderland. There is also a football and basketball area where games are held and can be used for a ‘kick around ‘ (its lovely to see fathers and sons playing there in the afternoon).

In the complex, there is a small gym and the surrounding area is a great place for runners. We were half board and the food on offer was excellent, plenty of choice and always freshly cooked. Nearby on the sea front walk there is a great selection of restaurants, bars and shops and there is a buzz about the front – really great for a stroll or walk on to the sand dunes.

The hotel has 7 pools, the best one is the lazy river. It has jets to keep the flow going and was great to swim around. For me it took 10 minutes to do one circuit (I enjoyed this so much I did 3 each day). There are also yoga and stretch classes available each day.

There are 2 main restaurants as part of the half board package and 2 further al la carte restaurants to enjoy. During the day, the poolside bar and restaurant is open, as well as a bar in the main entrance which has a band playing, plus other entertainment each night.”
